Special Announcement From The Chamber Board

Posted by: Franklin Chamber of Commerce  | Thursday, August 22, 2019

Dear Franklin Chamber of Commerce members:

You've probably heard by now about the merger between the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce and Johnson County Development Corporation. We wanted to let you know your Chamber leadership team and board of directors have been fully briefed on this merger and have been included in the conversations. We support this and any initiative that is designed to help grow the local business community and improve the quality of life in Johnson County.

While we were invited to join the new organization, the board ultimately voted against merging and dissolving the 109 year-old Franklin Chamber of Commerce. We carefully and thoughtfully considered the options and decided it was in the best interest of our members to remain an independent chamber and continue to serve Franklin and nearby communities as we always have.

The Franklin Chamber looks forward to collaborating and working closely with our partners at the newly-formed Aspire Economic Development + Chamber Alliance, and we wish them success. If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We thank you for your continued support and look forward to celebrating the Franklin Chamber's 110th anniversary with you in 2020!

Sincerely,
Your Franklin Chamber of Commerce leadership and Board of Directors
