Wednesday, August 1, 2018

Plans continue to unfold for an exciting, one-of-a-kind event designed to be the ultimate celebration of the businesses, restaurants and shops that make Franklin unique. The inaugural Franklin Chamber of Commerce Biz Bash will take place Thursday, September 20, at the historic Garment Factory Event center in downtown Franklin. The event is open to the public and free to attend.

Chuck Lofton, popular weathercaster for WTHR (Channel  13), will preside as master of ceremonies for Biz Bash.  Speakers at the event will include Franklin Mayor Steve Barnett and a special appearance by Gerry Dick, host of Inside INdiana Business. Local personalities from KORN Country and Rowdie from the Indianapolis Indians are also scheduled to participate.

Biz Bash, scheduled to run from 11:30am to 6:00pm, will feature networking, food and beverage tastings and workshops designed to entertain and engage attendees.   The workshops will be held on a variety of topics including food and wine pairings, social media marketing, fitness in the workplace and more.

“Franklin has a great story to tell and we think this is the perfect opportunity for people to come together and sample everything wonderful about our community,” said Janice Bullman, executive director of the Franklin Chamber. “Best of all, it will be under one roof, at the venue everyone will be talking about.”

Biz Bash will be one of the first community events to be held at the Garment Factory Events Center, located at 101 East Wayne Street in downtown Franklin. The historic 1920s building has undergone a major renovation and opened this past spring.
