Adult & Child Health has served central Indiana as a Community Mental Health Center for over five decades as a 501c(3) not-for-profit organization. We’ve been a staple in Indianapolis since 1949, originally known as Marion County Child Health Clinic. In 1982, we officially became Adult & Child Health. In 2017, we became a Federally Qualified Health Center, which means we can now deliver primary care to our community. This bridge to becoming an FQHC has provided us the opportunity to improve the whole health of each person we serve.

About this Position:

Our full-time exempt (salaried) Safety Coordinator will work with all services lines and management levels to maintain a safe work environment. As the Safety Coordinator, you will be responsible for facilitating compliance with occupational safety and health (OSHA), county emergency management, FEMA, Joint Commission and HRSA guidelines as well as federal and state governing bodies. Your primary goal will be to ensure safe working environments and prevention of injuries and accidents.

What You'll Bring:

• Provides the training and support for Safety Leads and staff
• Prepares A&C for audits and inspections by regulating bodies
• Schedules and completes required number of successful safety drills
• Maintains safe working environment
• Attends assigned meetings (organization, local, state and federal)
• Assist clinical and operation leaders with quality and performance improvement projects
• Monthly inspection of company owned vehicles per company guidelines. Take the necessary steps for service when required.
• Member of the internal and external emergency management teams (ex: C.R.T. and C.E.R.T.)

• Bachelor’s degree or minimum 5 years related work experience
• Previous directly related experience required
• Previous health care experience preferred
• Proficient experience with Microsoft Office 365 and email preferred
• Previous direct experience with hand tools and power tools
• Must maintain valid Driver's License,  insurance, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel up to 200 miles per day in personal vehicle
• Enjoys working with people; reliable and responsible
