Andy Kinsey serves as the lead pastor at Grace United Methodist Church in Franklin, where he has been for ten years. He is a graduate of the University of Evansville, Candler School of Theology at Emory University, and received a doctorate from Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. He and his wife, Peggy, have three children, Caleb, Hannah and Grace.
Andy’s hobbies include running, walking, bike riding, reading and spending time in coffee houses. He also enjoys traveling and time with family.
In addition to lead pastor at Grace Church, Andy also teaches at the University of Indianapolis and United Theological Seminary in Dayton. He is also on the faculty of the Course of Study in the Indiana Conference of the United Methodist Church where he trains local part-time pastors. He has contributed multiple book reviews to journals and is a book editor for Wipf & Stock Publishers.
Andy’s involvement in the Franklin community and Johnson County include serving on the board of United Way, Fast-Track, Franklin Education Connection, Dancing with the Johnson County Stars, Good Cheer Board of Trustees, and Rotary, to name a few. He is also involved with local initiatives to address hunger insecurity and homelessness.
Before coming to Franklin, Andy was the lead pastor for eleven years at Community United Methodist Church in Vincennes, the merger of four congregations. Andy and Peggy have also lived in Brownsburg and Terre Haute. Home is Mt. Vernon, Indiana, along the Ohio River.
